The HPG standard
Conduct before self-story.
High performers often mistake intensity for psychology. They demand more aggression, more belief, or more confidence. But pressure rarely asks whether you feel powerful. It asks whether you can locate the next useful action while the body and mind produce noise.
The starting discipline is separation: fact from interpretation, emotion from instruction, desire from commitment, and a difficult result from a permanent identity.
Name what is true
Separate observable facts from predictions, accusations, and explanations.
Regulate before deciding
When arousal is high, create enough space to avoid turning a temporary state into a lasting consequence.
Pre-decide the response
Use specific if-then plans for recurring pressure points, distractions, and avoidance patterns.
Review without self-deception
Study behavior to improve the system. Do not use reflection to excuse it or to attack the person.
